Planting sweet peas against a support

Garden Tutoring - initial assessment (3 hours - £120)

I recommend an initial assessment of your garden where I can help you identify your plants and perform soil analysis, including structure and pH. We can discuss your goals for the garden and your level of experience and what time you have available to spend there.

Afterwards I will provide you with a bespoke written summary of where your garden is now and steps to take to make changes and when.

Ideally I'd recommend future sessions at different times of the year so that we can build up a true understanding of what your garden offers.

Garden Tutoring - continued learning (3 hours - £120)

For future visits we can spend time working together on your bespoke plan, whether it's weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, so that you gain the confidence and skills required to carry on independently. Each session will be followed up with a written summary and ongoing instructions.

Telephone Consultations (£15 per 30 mins)

After a tutoring session, you may find you have lots of questions, especially as the season progresses. I therefore offer phone consultations to chat further and help guide you remotely, with the benefit of having seen your garden.

Garden tutoring - private garden (£35 per hour)

For those of you who don't yet have a garden or want to learn off site, then you are welcome to come to my own site to learn a particular skill or even just get stuck in to general garden activities. All sessions will be followed up with a written summary of what was covered.

Skills you might want to learn:

  • Propagation

  • Pruning

  • Vegetable growing

  • Growing cut flowers and annuals

About Me

IMG_6236_edited.jpg

Hi! My name is Lucy and as your Garden Companion, I offer bespoke advice whilst working alongside you in YOUR garden so that you can achieve the garden of your dreams. I'm based on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border and can travel up to 40 minutes.

I hold the RHS-2 Diploma in horticulture and have years of experience in all aspects of home gardening, including vegetable growing, cut flowers, creating herbaceous borders, wildlife ponds, propagation and much more. I have helped plant up show gardens and charity gardens and teach gardening to school children.

Together, we will work closely so that I can understand what you want from your garden, taking into account your level of experience and the time you are able to dedicate to it.

My goal is to share my love and knowledge of horticulture so that you have the confidence to grow and develop your garden into the haven you have always dreamed of.
